Bertha Gantt

Bertha "Bet" (Sharpe) Gantt, 89, of Gaston, SC and Buena Vista, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026 in Statesville, NC. She was born January 22, 1937 Gaston, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late Leon and Lessie (Spires) Sharpe. She was the loving wife of the late James Richard Gantt, who passed away June 20, 2022. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Kinner of Buena Vista, Sue (Jim) Harchelroad of Elizabeth, and Linda (Louis) Lepore of Statesville NC; son, Ricky Gantt of Buena Vista; grandchildren, Ron & Steven (Kayla) Kinner, Jeremy (AJ) & Jonathan (Amanda ) Harchelroad, and Chelsea & Emily Toman; great-grandchildren, Karson & Kameron Kinner, and Grayson, Ewan & Savannah Harchelroad; sisters, Letha Killuis of Columbia, SC, Eunice Dixon of Gaston, SC, Bernicea (Frank) Shealy of Chapin, SC, Carolyn Gedding of Sumter, SC and Ellen (Cecil) Sparrow of Gaston, SC; brother, Jack (Jamie) Sharpe of Gaston, SC; and life long family friend, Edward (Bucky) Bowles. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her grandson, Ronald M. Kinner and brother, Mariven Sharpe. Friends will be received Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street Boston, PA 15135. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
