Elizabeth Township

Beverly Diane "Bev" Greenawald, 70, of Elizabeth Township, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, June 28, 2026. She was born on January 28, 1956, in Altoona, she was the beloved daughter of the late Dean Alfred and Dorothy Mae (Watts) Wilson. For more than 20 years, Bev dedicated her career to serving others as a paramedic supervisor. Her commitment to her community extended far beyond her profession. She was deeply involved with the Central Fire Volunteer Department and the Greenock Volunteer Fire Department, where she made history as one of the area's first female masked firefighters. She was also an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary at both departments, always ready to lend a helping hand and support those around her. Bev was a former member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church and Greenock United Methodist Church. Known affectionately as "Mimi," Bev's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, an extraordinary grandmother, and the heart of her home. Her grandchildren cherished every moment with her, and even the family's beloved pets eagerly anticipated visits to "Mimi's House." A lifelong animal lover, Bev's passion began in her youth through 4-H, where she enjoyed barrel racing and pole bending with her horses. Throughout her life, she remained devoted to her horses, dogs, and every animal fortunate enough to cross her path. . She was avid gardener, she delighted in planting colorful flowers not only in her own gardens but often in those of her children and family members, even when they hadn't asked. She was incredibly talented with her hands, enjoying woodworking, painting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and sewing. Her creativity filled her family's lives through handmade clothing, baptismal gowns, Halloween costumes, amongst many others. Above all else, Bev lived a life centered on caring for others. She would do anything for her family, she was always the first to offer her time, her talents, and her unwavering support. She will be greatly missed.
