D. Anthony "Tony" Consales

February 24, 1925 — March 16, 2023

D. Anthony "Tony" Consales, 98, of White Oak, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023 at home. He was born in McKeesport on February 24, 1925 and was the son of the late Ben and Mary (Capasso) Consales. Tony was a World War II US Army Veteran who had served under General George Patton in the 4th Armored Division, US 3rd Army. He fought in 5 major battles: Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe Ardennes-Alsace, The Battle of the Bulge in Belgium and Rhineland, Germany. For his service he was awarded many medals and campaign ribbons, including The Distinguished Presidential Citation. Upon returning home he worked with his father doing construction for their company, the former Eagle Construction. He then went on to work as a foreman for Levinson Steel and also worked in home remodeling until he was 85 years old. Tony was also a scratch golfer in his early years and averaged 200 + a game bowler in numerous traveling men's leagues. He also enjoyed ballroom and square dancing. He was a very charismatic person who could have a great conversation with anyone and strived for perfection in all that he did. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his son, Dr. Anthony M. (Karen) Consales of Greensburg; daughters, Denise Delorean of Scottsdale, AZ and Lynn (James) Wynn of Elizabeth Twp.; and five grandchildren, Cullyn Consales, Angela Wynn, Adrienne (Anthony) Marmon, Timothy Wynn and Kimberlee Consales; great-grandchild, Luciano; companion, Toni Rothacher and special friend, Amy Kaminski. Friends are welcome on Sunday, March 19 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel immediately following visitation at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Paul Walter, officiating. Military Honors will be held at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Friday, April 7, at 1:30 pm (Anyone who wishes to go in procession, please meet at the funeral home at 12:00 pm).
