Dale Robert Sieber, 89, of Lincoln Borough, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026. He was born September 23, 1936 in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late John and Margaret (Whited) Sieber. Dale worked as a printer. His father was also a printer and he worked at his fathers place of business at a very young age. Eventually going to trade school to become a Printer himself. He loved to talk about his work with the old printing presses and his time as a lithographer. Dale loved to garden and he was especially good with roses and tomatoes. He also loved music and for many years sang barbershop and played the harmonica. Near the end of his life music became the one thing that could always engage him. Even when he was too weak to speak, he would mouth the words to his favorite barbershop songs and “sing” along. Dale was especially good at reading manuals and figuring things out. He didn’t just want to fix something or put it together, he needed to understand how it worked. This became especially frustrating for him later in life with new technologies. Especially the “smart phone” but occasionally he could laugh about it. Like the time all of his settings on the phone some how switched to Spanish and he could no longer read the settings to switch it back. Dale was a great father. His children are especially grateful for the love, laughter and of course safety he provided them growing up. He always managed to take the family on a summer vacation every year. Dale had a very strong fatherly protector instinct and always needed to do his research to make sure his family was safe. Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Fran; his children Karen Swanson (Dan), Dale Sieber (Peggy), Mary Jane Sieber (Thomas) and his stepson Ron Johnson (Lori). He is also survived by his sister Joyce Stahl, his five grandchildren, Kristin Taber (Kirk), Tim Swanson (Rachel), Lindsey Johnson, RJ Johnson, Cooper Johnson, and his great grandson, Dalinar Taber. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Sieber, his siblings Ronald, Jack, and Terry, and his first wife, Mary Louise Sieber. Friends will be received, Wednesday, May 27, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
