Dorothy Alice Come, 87, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born April 20, 1935 in Elizabeth and was the daughter of the late Noland and Sara (Dave) Messner. She was the wife of the late Alfred L. Come who passed away October 17, 2003. Dorothy was a member of the Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church, and the PSEA. She was a retired School Teacher for the Elizabeth Forward School District with 39 years of service. She was a graduate of West Newton High School and the Indiana State Teachers College. She was a member and Past President of the Mount Vernon Youth Association and the former McKeesport Novel Club. She was also a Lay Minister for several area churches. She is survived by her sons, Richard Lee Come and David Noland (Karen) Come of McMurray and Charles Savoy (Lee Ann) Come of North Huntingdon, grandchildren, Amanda Carson, Jeffrey (Cassey) Come, Matthew (Jessica) Come, Evan Come and Nina (Matthew) Tomko, great-grandchildren, Nolan Carson, Liam Come, Isabella Come, Julian Tomko and Theodore Tomko, brother, Thomas Messner of Avondale, AZ, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Messner. Friends are welcome Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 6-8 pm and Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township.
