Elizabeth "Betty" Robbins

Elizabeth “Betty” Robbins 92, of White Oak, formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away on Sunday March 28, 2021. Betty was born October 19, 1928 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Stefan and Stella (Damaski) Kozlowski. She was the wife of her beloved husband, the late William "Billy" Robbins. Betty was a remarkable woman. She worked for 26 years at the City of Pittsburgh Office of Personnel and after retiring from that position moved on to work for 8 years at the Federal Jury office becoming the Jury Supervisor, she got her driver’s license at the age of 40 and also obtained her GED at age 40...”just because”. She was active in 10th Ward Little League, St. Kieran’s Christian Mother’s Guild, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, participated in all activities while her children were in school, while raising them as a single mother. Upon her retirement she volunteered for St. Augustine MOW and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, did crossword puzzles like it was her job and baked the best world renowned cookies for all family functions and holidays. She was most passionate about her family and showed them her unconditional love all day every day. She had a lifelong strong Catholic faith and was most recently a member of Mary, Mother of God parish in White Oak. She is survived by her loving children Dennis (Cindy) Robbins, Mark (Abby Tarantino)Robbins and Gail Robbins; her grandchildren Cherie (Chris)Boniface, Sarah (Jaime) Pineda, Jena (Chaz) Schieb and step-grandchildren David Srednicki and Justin (Michele) Srednicki. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Izabella and Brayden Boniface, Mateo, Camila and Luna Pineda and Charlie and Cyrus Schieb as well as her sister-in-law Lois R. O’Connor and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, siblings Julia Paulovkin, Helen Powers, Joseph “Larry” Kozlowski and Irene Kozlowski and her beloved pet Gracie Bean Robbins. Friends are welcome Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, March 31, at 10:00 am at Mary, Mother of God Parish (St. Angela Worship Site. Private burial will be at St. Augustine Cemetery, Millvale. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, One North Linden St, Duquesne, PA 15110.
