Obituary

James Alan "Jim" Lipesky, 78, of White Oak passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2026. He was born in Natrona Heights on February 27, 1948 and was the son of the late Andrew A. and Margaret B. (Kramerik) Lipesky. Jim obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Akron University and spent many years in IT and computer programming - eventually retiring from UPMC. He was an avid sports fan - the "sport almanac" kind of guy. He was a huge Pens fan, but he knew every aspect to every sport, every rule, and any changes that were going to be made prior to the new season. He also played golf, and enjoyed sipping on his bourbon and putting back a few beers with his best bud, Dan. Yet, nothing was more important than family. His wife and his three girls meant the world to him, not to mention the tremendous amount of love he eventually had for his grandchildren. He was simply the best. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Hebda) Lipesky, as they just shared their 50th wedding anniversary this year; his three daughters, Thea Lipesky of White Oak, Kathleen "Kate" Kelley of McKeesport, and Jamie (Dan Ruder) Lipesky of White Oak; grandchildren, Katelyn Victoria, Caitlin Nichole, Josephina Elizabeth "Josie", and Theodore James; a sister, Deborah (Jack) Connell of Verona; his dog, Wiggles, who never left his side; as well as nieces. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his sister, Donna Verone.

Friends are welcome Sunday, November 8, 2026 from 1-5pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131. (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, director. Funeral Service will follow at 5pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Adam Stump officiating. Condolences can be made at GilbertFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com
