John William Parker, Sr.

John William Parker, Sr., 92 of North Huntingdon passed away Sunday, September, 20, 2026. He was born in Cayce, SC on August 19, 1934 to the late Samuel and Beatrice (Ellisor) Parker. John moved to PA around the age of 15 to work - starting as a laborer, and becoming a brick layer. Eventually, he opened his own residential construction company in the 1960s, called Palmetto Home Builders - building over 500 homes in the area. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf and watching any and all sports. He also grew fond of his stray cat, Jack, that kept coming back to his home, where he finally made his way inside and never left. He is survived by his daughter, Terri Parker of Elizabeth Township; grandchildren, Trevor (Tannie) Hawkins, Dylan (Jordan) Rosgone, Jesse Parker, and Cameron (Courtney) Parker; great-grandchildren, Karlie, Connor, and Kallie Parker; his siblings, Mary Sharpe, Patricia (Dan) Jones, Phillip (Ann) Parker, and Paul "Bud" Parker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his son, John Parker, Jr., and by his 2 brothers, Franklin and Ralph Parker.

Friends are welcome Wednesday September 23, 2026 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston PA 15135. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, director. Funeral Service will take place Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held at Mount Vernon Cemetery at a different time.
