John Richard Evanko, Sr.

John Richard Evanko, Sr. 76, of Elizabeth Township, formerly of Versailles, passed away Saturday, August  10, 2019. He was born October 12, 1942 in Duquesne and was the son of the late John and Mary (Logo) Evanko. John was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in McKeesport and was retired from US Steel Clairton Works. He is survived by his wife of  57  years, Mary Loretta (Bilak) Evanko, son, Michael J. Evanko of Ashburn, VA, grandchildren, Christopher  (Jena) Evanko, Mandy (Katie Fiquett) Evanko, Kasey Evanko, and Griffin Evanko, great-grandchildren, Wes Evanko and Hannah Ivey, sisters, Mary Hammon of Clairton and Dorothy Hrabosky of Duquesne, daughter-in-law, Tracey Evanko of Pelham, AL, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, John Richard Evanko, Jr. who passed away December 10, 2018 in Alabama. Friends are welcome Tuesday, August 13, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm,  at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Donald Voss will be officiating.  Interment will follow at the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
