Jonathan Joseph Fonos

Jonathan Joseph Fonos, 27, of Port Vue, passed away Monday, December 9, 2019. He was born October 12, 1992 in Pittsburgh and was the son of Larry (Sherry) Vargo of Jefferson Hills,  and Kathy Hanky of Port Vue. Jonathan worked for Interstate NDT in Belle Vernon and was a US Army Veteran. He was also a member and Legion Rider of the Smithton American Legion. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughters, Skylar Reynolds of West Elizabeth and Nova Lynn Fonos of Texas, brother, Dakota Eugene Vargo and sister, Savannah Lynn Vargo of Jefferson Hills, grandparents, Richard and Lois Atwood of North Huntingdon, Elaine Coulter of Versailles, and Kathy Walton of Oakmont, fiancee, Diamond Vargo of Port Vue,  cousins, Adam and Josh Hanky and Kristie and Erin McDonald, aunt Lori and uncle Brian Stramoski and family, uncle Lenny and aunt Lisa Vargo and family, uncle Lonnie Vargo, and aunt Sue Frankert and family. Friends are welcome Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 11-1 and 4-6 pm at the New Hope Assembly of God, 900 Peairs Road, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held in the church on Thursday at 6 pm with Pastor Damian Schoonmaker, officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at 2 pm at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
