Joseph D. Barton

Joseph D. "Joe" Barton, 71, of White Oak passed away Monday, July 13, 2026. He was born September 11, 1954 in McKeesport to the late Stanley E. "Buzz" and Mary (Yacksich) Barton. Joe was an avid fisherman - loving nothing more than spending the day on the river hoping for his biggest catch yet. He was also a sports fanatic, a boxing advocate, and a fitness buff. He graduated from McKeesport Area School District and worked numerous jobs in his career - but retired in 2013 from OK Grocery as a warehouseman. He is survived by his loving wife, Estella (Loizes) Barton; his sons, Jay (Deja) Barton of Manor, and Dr. Joseph Barton of Benecia, CA; a step-daughter, Savannah (Matt) Bucey of Canonsburg; his grandchildren, Noah & Norah Barton, Andrew & Olivia Barton, and Parker & Landon Bucey; a nephew and a niece, Michael & Stacey Weleski; as well as more nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his sister, Joan Smith.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 1-3pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131. (412) 672-6322 Troy J. GIlbert, director. The Memorial Service will follow at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel.
