Joseph Francis Conroy, 88, of White Oak, passed away Friday, May 8, 2026 in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born January 11, 1938, in Duquesne and was the only child of Hannah Corcoran Conroy and Joseph Conroy. Joe was retired from Bob Massie Lincoln-Mercury-Toyota where he specialized in front end alignments. His nickname was JoeBags. He loved playing the Daily Number (especially the numbers 216 and 540) and buying scratch-off tickets at Lou's Brews, always calling Doreen and Debbie for “ just one more number.” He was an avid Steelers fan, especially of players such as Jack Lambert and Terry Bradshaw, and will be buried with a Terrible Towel and wearing a Steelers sweatshirt. He also greatly enjoyed WWE wrestling and watching almost any sport he could find, but he was never a fan of Tiger Woods. He loved his bright red Jeep Liberty, you may have seen him in the White Oak area with his custom plate, ALIGN. Joe was also a huge fan of John Wayne and TV westerns. Although he was not a big reader, he really used to enjoy the McKeesport Daily News and was often consulting the Dream Book for lottery numbers. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Rose Mary Conroy, on February 28, 2024, and a beloved cousin, Martin "Corky" Corcoran . He is survived by his children, Joseph M. "Mick" (Jodi) Conroy, of Adamsburg, Patricia (Frank) Smarra of North Huntingdon, Thomas (Tammy) Conroy of North Huntingdon, Barbara (Craig) McKee of Monessen and Kelly Conroy of Jeannette; grandchildren Michael (Bethany) McClain of Ohio, Melissa Cherock of North Huntingdon, Daniel (Rebecca) Flynn of Australia, Timothy Flynn of Philadelphia, Kevin Rogers of Greensburg, Calvin (fiancé, Ashley) Conroy of North Huntingdon and Hannah (Tyler) Campbell of North Versailles; great-grandchildren, Taylor Briney ( US Air Force) of Oklahoma, Abigail and Grant McClain of Ohio and Aurora Flynn of Australia; great-great-granddaughter Hadleigh of Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Joseph (JoAnn) Stark of North Huntingdon; numerous nieces and nephews; and treasured friend and neighbor, Bill Wehner. Friends will be received Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director.
