Laura Joan Johns

Laura Joan (Carr) Johns, 89, of Juniper Village at Monroeville, previously of Elizabeth Township, went to Heaven to be with the Lord on August 19, 2026. She was born in the Pittsburgh area September 13, 1936 and was the daughter of the late Robert and Laura (Closkey) Carr - as well as the beloved wife of the late Thomas H. Johns before his passing in 2019. Laura was an active member of Greenock United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was retired as a medical secretary from US Steel Duquesne works, where she originally met her husband, Thomas. During their marriage, they enjoyed traveling to all 50 states.

Joan was the loving stepmother of Thomas E. Johns, and Gail (Patrick) Murray; cherished grandmother of Erin (Jason) Fareri, and Lauren (Charles) Hoffmann; great-grandmother of Enzo, Gio, Gemma, and Jolina Fareri, and Max and Luna Hoffman; a sister, Alda Carr; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Johns; and many nieces and nephews of the Carr family. In addition to her husband and parents, Joan is preceded in death by her siblings, Leonard (Peggy) Carr, Robert (Loretta) Carr, Ronald (Irene) Carr, Bill (Ethel) Carr, Calvin Carr, and Wanda Carr.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at 10:00am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Scott Lawrence officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date at Jefferson Memorial Park.
