Mary Josephine Greger

Mary Josephine Greger, 87, of Carmichaels, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. She was born March 20, 1939 in Duquesne and was the daughter of the late Michael Paul and Serena Anna (Stenger) McGrail. She was the loving wife of 63 years to the late David Donald Greger, who passed away on November 27, 2025. Mary Jo worked as an Administrator for the Croation Fraternal Union and a clerk for US Steel. She and her husband belonged to St. Michael's church and attended Mass at the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer in Elizabeth. Like her husband, her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Joseph Greger of Alexandria, VA; daughter Theresa (Nicholas) Hetrick of Carmichaels; grandchildren, Anna and Danny Hetrick; brother, John (Pat) McGrail of Hidden Valley; nieces and nephews. Friends are welcome on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 11 AM at the Divine Redeemer Mother House 999 Rock Run Rd, Elizabeth, PA 15037, with Father Ed Wichman, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Port Vue.
