Maryann DeSantis

Maryann L. DeSantis, 88, of Boston, passed away May 8, 2026 in Pittsburgh. She was born March 27, 1938 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Michael and Lena (Bartko) Hlivka. She was the wife of 30 years to the late Salvatore L. DeSantis, who passed away July 9, 1989 and the companion of 25 years to the late LeRoy "Lee" Pemberton, who passed away December 18, 2025. Maryann was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish and had attended the St. Patrick worship site. She loved the community of Little Boston and was involved with the Boston Fire Hall, The Ladies Auxillary and Bingo. Maryann was a proud small business owner with her husband for the former DeSantis Medical and DeSantis Dairy Land. She loved to crochet and loved teaching anyone she could, especially her grandchildren on how to do it. She was an excellent cook, and was known for her Italian food, especially meatballs, roast beef, breaded chicken, garlic bread and her salad dressing. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Donna) DeSantis and Darrin (Valerie) DeSantis; beloved grandchildren, Brandon (Lisa) DeSantis, Christina DeSantis, Jennifer DeSantis, Leah (Matthew) Heinz and Nikki (Gino) Szegady; great-grandchildren, Lena, Emmy, and Ryan; great-niece, Lindsay (Howie) Lesofsky. In addition to her parents, husband and companion, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Joan Konias, and nephew, James "Jim" (Kim) Konias. There will not be any visitation per Maryann's request. Private service and entombment will be held at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
