Melinda Rose Knapton

Melinda Rose Knapton, 55, of Buena Vista, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. She was born January 8, 1971 in Greenfield, Massachusetts and was the daughter of James Grant Knapton, Jr. and the late Carol Rose (Hrivnak) Knapton, who passed away October 18, 2024. She was a 1989 graduate of Serra Catholic High School and received an Associate's Degree from Penn State University - Behrend Campus. She was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick's Church in McKeesport. Melinda was a Pittsburgh Sports fan and she also enjoyed riding on the bike trail, traveling to Bethany beach, fishing, and seeing live music. She had a loving bond with her mother Carol and she missed her dearly. In addition to her father, she is survived by her brothers, Andrew J. (Bernard Schilling) Knapton of Greenock, James G. (Agnes) Knapton III. of Lincoln Borough and Robert F. (Amanda) Knapton of Mount Vernon; nieces and nephews; best friend, Darla Laughlin; special aunt, Patty Cook; her dog, Cooper James and her cat, Jujubee.
