Michael Pozzuto, 93, of Naples, FL, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021. He was born November 15, 1927 in McKeesport, and was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Ruggier) Pozzuto. Michael was the owner of Pozzuto & Sons Plumbing for 45 years. Prior to that he ran the plumbing division of Ryan Homes and was a past officer of Mon Yough Plumbing Contractors Association. He was a member of Mary, Mother of God, Saint Patrick Church, Christy Park. He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Jean (Shaffer) Pozzuto, sons Michael (Lori) of Tarpon Springs, FL, Gary (Pam) of Jefferson Hills, PA, Barry (Chippy) of McKeesport, PA and Richard of Naples, FL, brother Donald (Barb) Pozzuto of McKeesport, sisters Rita Cook of North Huntington, and Betty (Dan) Mains of Port Vue, sister-in-laws Lynne (Sue) of Weston, FL and Annetta (Netta) of McKeesport, grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Derek and Jeanna, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and John "Jack" and sister Geraldine "Sis" Pozzuto. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and was awarded the Medal of Victory. He was an avid sports fan and never missed watching a Steelers game. He even tried out for an outfielder position for the Pittsburgh Pirates but he was a better hitter than catcher. He liked fixing things and having conversations with everyone. His favorite meal was breakfast and eating at Mel’s Diner. However his favorite meal was his wife’s spaghetti and sauce. His laughter and smile will be missed.
