Elizabeth Township

Patricia Hoffman, 73, of Elizabeth Township, PA, passed away Tuesday September 3, 2024 at home after her battle with lung cancer. Born July 23, 1951 in Homestead, PA to the late Helen Sharp Maksymowicz and Lawrence Sharp. Beloved wife of James Hoffman, Patty is also survived by her sister Marlene Sharp Murray, her son Kenneth Bachman, her daughter Collette Bachman Miller, and her grandchildren Kaia Bachman, Rachael Bachman Miller, Anya Bachman Miller, and Kenneth Bachman Jr. She was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Bachman Wentroble, her sister Susan Sharp Brown, and her stepfather Walter Maksymowicz.

Prior to her retirement she was employed as parts manager at Three Rivers BMW, Bill Gray Subaru, and Yenko Subaru in Pittsburgh, PA.

Patty was an unflagging giver, caretaker, and helper. Patty would help anyone with anything at any time. She put the needs of others before herself and was passionate about preserving and strengthening family connections and traditions.

Patty loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, tending to her flower gardens, and her rescue Basset Hounds.

Patty held honesty and fairness at the highest level. She was a vibrant, energetic person with an infectious upbeat spirit who dedicated her life to improving our community and the lives of others. She was devoted to activating others on local environmental and quality of life issues. She was involved in multiple community causes as well as local environmental causes, especially air and water quality issues. She was always ready to assist others in fighting against things that needed to be changed. Whether it was her work with Yough Communities CARE or community committees, her passion for others and drive will never be forgotten by all those fortunate enough to call her a friend. Her involvement included being a member of the Elizabeth Township Democratic Committee and to help those running for office, helping others understand the candidates and issues, and presenting current concerns to government officials.
