Ralph David Jordan

May 14, 1934 — October 26, 2019

Ralph D. Jordan, 85, of White Oak, Allegheny County left  this world Saturday , October 26, 2019 due to declining health.  He was born May 14, 1934, in McKeesport, son of the late Eileen E. Kelly Jordan and Anthony C. “Brother” Jordan Sr.  who passed away in 1981 and 1990 respectively.  Ralph is survived by four younger siblings and their families: Eileen E. Gerneth and her husband, George Gerneth MD, Anthony C. Jordan Jr., Judith J. Kalich and her husband Richard L Kalich, and Rosena L. Jordan.  He has many surviving nieces, nephews, godchildren, and cousins and one Aunt. Ralph loved life and the sense of family and close friends.  Much of his childhood was spent in Ligonier with the balance in White Oak. Always industrious, he worked for Jordan Banana Co, co-owned K&K Miniature Golf and dedicated many years to his weekend flea market business “Ralph’s Inn Shop” in North Versailles.  His love of automobiles lead to the ownership of classic automobiles.  He could frequently be spotted driving a 1937 Packard or a 1931 Chevy.  However, his all-time favorite vehicle was his beloved neon green VW.  A compassionate, generous, selfless, gentle man, Ralph served throughout his life as a model of inspiration; even when faced with serious health issues; he maintained a constant positive outlook and began every conversation with a “How are you?”  Ralph will be lovingly remembered for many things - his bowling expertise, his antique automobiles, his devotion to his work, his legendary ‘big splash’ cannonball but most of all for his love of family and his generous kindness toward others. Friends are welcome Friday, November 1, 2019 from 4-8 pm. at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, director. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday November 2, 2019 at 12:30 pm. Entombment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum, North Versailles. Condolences may be made at Gilbertfuneralhomeandcrematory.com
