Remo David Pletcher

Remo David Pletcher, 70, of Buena Vista passed away Friday, October 23, 2026. He was born July 1, 1956 in McKeesport, the son of the late Rev. Remo H. and Tena Ruth Johnson Pletcher. Remo was a high end wood worker for 49 years, his first job after high school was with Tri-Way Cabinet, then Backus Cabinet Co. and then Allegheny Millwork and Lumber Co. where he retired from after almost 30 years of service in October 2023. He had an eye for detail which helped him throughout his career, whether he was working in his workshop at home, running his RC cars with his buddy, Chris, or fixing something broken, he had a tool for everything. He enjoyed every minute of it. Remo graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 1974 and was a member of Buena Vista United Presbyterian Church. On September 15, 1979 he married Deborah Kaye (Walker) Pletcher, recently celebrating 47 years of marriage. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Leslie B. Pletcher; sister, Alice R. Gallingane and grand-fur-child, Romeo. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Rachelle K. Pletcher; sister, Grace L. (Kenneth) Angelo; many nieces, nephews, friends and coworkers; cat, Diablo; and grand-fur-child, Ziva. Friends will be received Tuesday, October 27, 2026 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, PA 15135, (412) 751-5000, Drew J. and Ian J. Gilbert, Directors. A funeral service will be held, Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at 10 AM at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Eric Dennis officiating.
