Robert A. Sokol

Robert A. Sokol, 83 of McKeesport passed away May 22, 2026. He was born December 1, 1942 and lived his whole life in the McKeesport area. He was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Lesko) Sokol, and the husband of the late Judith (Peyinghaus) Sokol. An Army Veteran, Robert served in the Army during the Vietnam War as a medic. He then spent over 25 years as a City of McKeesport Police Officer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a member and post commander of Post 361 American legion, VFW & Loyal Order of the Moose, as well as an instrumentalist in the annual tribute to USS McKeesport - which sank in the North Atlantic by a sub in WWII. He is survived by his daughter, Season Meredith Sokol of McKeesport, as well as his son, Brandon Robert Sokol of McKeesport. In addition to his parents and wife, Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Lesko.
