Samuel M. Homa, 80, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019. He was born June 5, 1938 in Elizabeth Township, and was the son of the late Samuel and Matilda (Hatalovich) Homa. He was a member of Dormition of the Holy Virgin Russian Orthodox Church in McKeesport, the Clairton American Legion, FOP, and Stephen Bayard Lodge # 526 F & AM in Elizabeth. He was a US Army Veteran and was a retired Supervisor for Hercules Corp. in West Elizabeth. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Emilene D. (Feruck) Homa, daughter, Donna Lynn Jakub of West Mifflin, grandchildren, Adam (Jill) Jakub, Erika (Mike) Armstrong, Melissa Jakub, Holly Jakub, Chynna Rae Bugan, and Charles Bugan, Jr., great-grandchildren, Max, Jenna, Malanya and Kobe, brother, Daniel (Nancy) Homa of Elizabeth Township,  and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Bugan who died Monday, May 27, 2019 and his son-in-law, Ramon "Jake" Jakub. Friends are welcome Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 10 am to 12 noon at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Service will be held at 12:30 pm in Dormition of the Holy Virgin Russian Orthodox Church, McKeesport with Father Dimitri D. Ermakov, officiating.
