Stephen "Steve" Charles Kamp, 65, of McKeesport passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at home. He was born October 5, 1960 in Evansville, Indiana and was the son of Ella Agnes (Spaeth) Kamp and the late Charles Albert Kamp. Steve was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran, who loved his country and was a crew chief on helicopters. For his service he was awarded The Rifle Marksmanship Badge, The Pistol Marksmanship Badge, The Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, The Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 1 Star, The Humanitarian Service Medal, The Meritorious Mast and Unit Citation and The Good Conduct Medal. Upon completion of his military service, Steve would go on to attend the Emery Riddle Aerononautical University to become an airframe and Powerplant mechanic. He would go on to work for Delta Airlines in Tampa, Fl as an Aircraftline Maintenance Technician and Avionics Technician, Northwest Airlines in Las Vegas, he also worked as a Fiber Network Field Technician for Verizon in Tampa, Fl and finally finished his career at Eliott Energy in Jeannette, PA as a compressor and turbine assembler technician before retiring in 2022. Steve was an avid train enthusiast and was a member of The TCA Train Club. He was also a member of The Elizabeth Township Sportmens Club. He loved classic cars, and restoring vintage vehicles. He also enjoyed watching the Indianapolis 500. Steve also enjoyed riding his Indian Motorcycle. He had a love for the outdoors, whether it be fishing, boating or yardwork. He was known to be very mechanically inclined and a handyman that could fix anything. Steve was very proud of his military service, believed in God and Country and always stood when The National Anthem was played. Steve's family and friends, meant everything to him and he will be greatly missed. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife, Sheryl Renee' (Medved) Kamp; daughter, Michelle (John Ward) Sabol; son, Cyril (Jennifer) Sabol III.; grandchildren, Hayley L. Clark, Kaitlyn Sabol, Rylee Sabol and Gabriel Sabol; brothers, Michael (Kathy) Kamp and Dennis (Missy) Kamp; sisters-in-law, Lindsey (Keith Jones) Dukic and Rhianna (Joe Evans) Dukic; brother-in law, Richard (Victoria) Medved; nieces and nephews, Chloe Kamp, Kristopher Kamp, Matthew (Kelly) Kamp, Carter Kamp, Brian Kamp, Kameron Jones, Kadence Jones, Kyier Jones, Kemon Jones, Keith Spell, Kyng Jones, Chad (Antonette) Medved and Matthew (Nicole) Merranko; great-nieces and nephews, Quinn Ella Kamp, Raiden Evans, Sunniva Merranko, Augustine Merranko and Margot Merranko; aunt, Debra Hauber and special cousins, Richard Kamp, John (Brianna) Ulm, Braelyn Ulm and Jenson Ulm. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Harriet D. Sigmund. There will not be any visitation or services. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
