Tullio J. Tozzi

Tullio J. Tozzi, 97, of White Oak, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026. He was born July 2, 1929 in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late Tullio and Zoe (Larghi) Tozzi. Tullio was the husband of the late Helen J. Tozzi, who passed away June 29, 2020. Together they shared a story of true love. Tullio was a US ARMY Veteran who served during the Korean Era. Upon completion of his military service, he would go on to work for Westinghouse, retiring as a Senior Engineer. He was a member of the former St. Perpetua and was a current member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, where he attended St. Angela Merici Church. Tullio was instrumental in the function and success of The McKeesport Majorette Drum and Bugle Corps for 40 years, alongside his beloved wife, Helen. He was known for being a stylish dresser, for having a great sense of humor and was universally loved by everyone. Tullio was also charitable man and was known to help the homeless on the streets of Pittsburgh. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed golfing at Butler's, Seven Springs, and Manor Valley. He enjoyed family beach trips and was known to body surf and take anyone out along the way to shore. He loved to dance. He and Helen would hear a song and start dancing no matter where they were or what they were doing. Tullio had a lot of great sayings, but always said this: " In a world where it's so easy to be kind, why would anyone choose to be otherwise". He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is survived by beloved daughters, Linda Hayward and Marie Tozzi; granddaughters, Jennifer Hayward, Talia Thomas, Giovanna (Jessica) Parham, Jessica (Taylor Friesenhahn) Hayward, and Arielle (Andrew Francia) Thomas; great-grandson, Tullio James Francia; and many well loved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gilbert Tozzi, Mario Tozzi, Helen Tyler, Enio Tozzi, and Rosemarie Steliga. Friends are welcome on Sunday, October 4, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 5, 2026 at 11:00 am at Mary, Mother of God - St. Angela Parish in White Oak. Entombment with full military honors will follow at the McKeesport and Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport.
