Vincent A. Golik, Sr.

Vincent A. "Vince" Golik, Sr., 86, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026. He was born January 17, 1940 in Smithdale and was the son of the late Joseph M. and Sophia P. (Haupt) Golik. Vince was a US ARMY Veteran. He would go on to work for the former Bucyrus-Erie Company in Glassport and as a bus driver for many years for Laidlaw and Pennsylvania Coach Lines driving many students in The Elizabeth Forward School District. Vince was a member of Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish, where he attended St. Michael Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan with his favorite driver being Dale Jarrett in the 88 car. He enjoyed traveling to Jennerstown Raceway supporting his nephew Tom and enjoyed watching as many races as he could at home. He was a member of PNA Glassport and was an avid bowler there and with his wife, Sue. Vince was a great husband, father, step-father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who also took special care of his step-son, Jeff. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Suzanne "Sue" M. (Suhy) Mesiarik-Golik; daughter, Valerie (Michael) Piehl; son, Vincent A. (Kathy) Golik; step-children, Jason (Constance) Mesiarik, Lisa (Christopher) Clark and Jeffrey M. Mesiarik; grandchildren, Caresse (Matt) Arose, Carsen Jolly, Rhiannon Golik, Kimberly (James) Walters, and Christopher Kanonik; step-grandchildren, Isabelle, Anne, Sophie, and Elisabeth Mesiarik; great-grandchildren, Lilith and Zackary Walters, and Addison, Hadleigh, and Maci Arose; as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia (Daugherty) Golik; daughter, Catherine "Cathy" Rose Kanonik; brother, Joseph T. Golik; and sister, Mary Solarczyk. Friends are welcome on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, director. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Michael Church on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 10:00 am with Rev. Thomas J. Burke, Celebrant.
