William A. "Bill" Scheetz, Sr., 79, of Lincoln Borough, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026. He was born April 15, 1947 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William F. Scheetz Jr. and Alberta V. (Evans) Scheetz. He was the loving husband of 59 years to Nancy Louise (Morgan) Scheetz. Bill attended Penn State University, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor's in Computer Science. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1965 where he served our country for over 25 years and retired as a Lt. Commander. During his time in the Navy he served during the Vietnam War. He traveled around the world, which later became a passion he shared with his wife. They went on many cruises and to many different countries together, and also enjoyed adventuring to theme parks and riding roller coasters. He also was a volunteer for Lincoln Borough's Fire Department for 27 years, during his time there he was an ambulance driver and later became the kitchen man in the fire hall. He was a family oriented man above all and no matter his length of services Nancy always outranked him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Diane Louise (Robert) Baldwin of State College and their children, Brooke Ashley (Jake Gregg) and Dayna Marie Baldwin; son, William Arthur (Bernadette) Scheetz, Jr. of Patuxen River, MD and their children, Casey Louise Scheetz and James Richard Scheetz; brothers, Barry James (Linda) Scheetz and Keith Michael (Judy) Scheetz; brother-in-law, Allan Koman; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Annette Marie Koman. Friends are welcome Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 4-8 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, director. Committal Services and Military Honors and interment will be held at Round Hill Cemetery's Chapel on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 11 AM.
